Nha Trang and Hoi an

After arriving in Nah Trang we were met not only by Dixon but DK also (again) surprised us with his presence. We weren't in the Russian holiday resort town long before we realised we couldn't spend the whole 10 days of their vacation here and enjoy ourselves so we put ourselves and our bikes on an overnight sleeper bus and took the 12 hour journey to Hoi an. Here we drank ourselves into oblivion, had clothes tailored, took stupid photos, went to beach, learnt to cook Vietnamese, went to my son and ate a lot of Cao Lau.

After 7 days and Joe buying a motorbike and realising it's a death trap and swapping it for another from a reputable seller (styles) we finally left ho chi Minh. We are taking the back roads as advised from the lovely gentleman at Vietnamcoracle.com to avoid heavily congested highways and the same routes as the millions of others. We soon became aware how much these roads weren't the standard routes when everyone we pass just stops and stares or pointed at us with disbelief.

Hanoi and Cat Ba Island with Halong Bay tour

This time we actually stayed in Hanoi to see the sites and sample the city. Here we visited the museums, met up with Marine, bumped into Stupid James by accident,  and drank lots of extremely cheap beer. Me and Joe decided to commemorate the whole trip by getting a small tattoo. We then drove down to Cat Ba Island and had a few days exploring and then going on the famous Halong Bay tour. This guy wanted to get a guiness world record for amount of mattresses on a scooter. Stupid James

Journey to Long Khanh and Cat Tien

We stayed overnight in a small town called cat Tiên and had some banging pho. The people in the phone shop were taking pictures of us when we walked through the door so we know we have made the right choice for the journey. Then onto the mountains and Cat Tiên national park. Stunning scenery.
